Reign Update

Great News: The German Shepherd Rescue has raised approx. $2,000 towards the $4,500 cost for Reign’s surgery.

More Great News: after finding the right vet, Reign has had his surgery!

The Rescue Group was able to find a vet who was willing to do the surgery, for approx. $4,500. The vet agreed to perform the surgery with the promise of payment. You can read more about the type of surgery, here: External Skeletal Fixators.

For the next six weeks or more, once a week, Reign is brought back to the vet for cleanings, pin maintenance. The Rescue Group is incredibly optimistic about his recovery, and the Veterinarian believes he will be back close to 98% when all the healing is done. And the best part of the story, is what a great loving dog Reign is. Check out the most recently updated photo of Reign with his leg in a giant blue bandage, and snuggling with the orange cat! I'm told he's become a favorite with the veterinary clinic staff and doctors. An adorable loving animal, disciplined, and intelligent. I'm even giving thought to what it might be like to adopt him, but that's another post. And, he may find the right loving home in the mean time.

To date, the Rescue Group has raised approx. $2,000. They still need to raise another $2,500, possibly more, given the follow-up visits which involve anesthesia, x-rays... the works.

Keep the good will coming. A little love across the blog-o-sphere goes along way.
